Sadly, in the wake of our earlier report about how councillors feel oppressed by the ruling regime, Independent Councillor Brian Rush has quit as the member for Frampton and Holme.
Councillor Rush was first elected as a member of the Boston Bypass Independents, but went “solo” after disagreements with their leadership style and co-founded the Better Boston Group.
He subsequently stood as an Independent as last year’s elections and was re-elected.
Councillor Rush has been among the most vocal critics of the present Conservative regime – and his departure will still an important voice of dissent – which we are sure that the Tories will be cock-a-hoop about.
Boston Borough Council’s response was to announce that Chief Executive Richard Harbord has advertised the position for applications, and candidates may apply for the post from Wednesday.

  1. A very sad day for Boston, indeed. The myopic fools in Worst Street will undoubtably view Cllr Rush's departure as some kind of victory - the same way Bonaparte smugly gloated over the departure of his critics shortly before his own spectacular exit.
